WWF
At Toyota we understand that we operate within a natural environment much bigger than ourselves. Motor vehicles can have a detrimental effect on environmental resources, carbon emissions and ultimately our way of life.
We strive to make a real difference and do the right thing without delay, through technological innovation and better business practices.
Toyota is involved in partnerships worldwide to promote environmental responsibility. Here in New Zealand, our partnerships are focused on conserving the environment and promoting sustainable mobility.
World Wide Fund For Nature, more widely known as ‘WWF’, is a global organisation. It aims to educate the next generation about the importance of managing our precious environment more sustainably, and resources communities in vital backyard conservation. The organisation works at an international level to aid sustainable development and, like Toyota, is committed to New Zealand for New Zealand.
Toyota New Zealand has proudly worked alongside WWF New Zealand for over two decades.
Wild places define New Zealand and WWF-NZ campaigns to protect these landscapes and their unique bio-diversity. Toyota’s long standing sponsorship of WWF-NZ helps facilitate a broad range of activity:
The use of the head office call centre to record Maui dolphin sightings,
- The loan of two hybrid cars to enable WWF to get out and spread the word,
- National campaigns on climate change, resource use and endangered species.
"Toyota’s support is invaluable. The positive connection with Toyota spans 25 years and has various levels – from a long commitment to the board, to funding our project and campaign work, through to use of Toyota’s call centre which records sightings of Maui dolphins. Even the loan of three hybrid cars are important in allowing WWF to get out and about and spread the word".
Chris Howe, WWF-NZ Executive Director.
